Top Destinations Yilan County, Taiwan
Yilan
Yilan is a county located in the northeastern part of Taiwan. It is about 60 km away from the center of Taipei and can be reached by train or bus in just an hour.
It is known for its wide rice fields, mountains, coastal sceneries, and destinations such as Guishan Island.
Yilan is also a perfect spot for camping activities. I made a blog about it!
How to go to Yilan
There are two ways to go to Yilan by commuting, train or bus. I personally prefer the train as it I found it easier to navigate by looking at the TRA stations in Google Maps.
Train
In Taipei Main Station, simply buy a ticket at the ticket counter located at Station Plaza or at the underground floor.
The cost is ranging from 140 to 220 depending on which train you will ride. You may choose from these trains:
You may also check the timetables and book online on Taiwan Railway website
Motorcycle Rental
In front of the station, you’ll find a row of motorcycle rental shops. While this particular shop grabbed my attention as they are renting this Vespa Styled motorcycle called JBubu. I believe this is a Taiwanese brand.
