The island is part of Surigao del Norte province and sits along the edge of the Pacific Ocean, where it enjoys fresh sea breezes and stunning coastal scenery.

In Buscalan Tattoo Village, surrounded by nature and culture, I had a special experience that connected old customs with my own story. Meeting Apo Whang-Od, a famous tattoo artist, was a big moment for me.
Deciding to get a tattoo wasn’t just about looks; it was about honoring traditions and remembering my journey. From a simple anklet design to intricate Baybayin symbols, each tattoo marked a part of who I am.
Talking with travelers like Gee and thinking about Whang-Od’s art showed me how tattoos can tell stories and bring people together. My tattoo journey became a way to share experiences and learn about different cultures.
